前不久,中华人民共和国驻印度尼西亚共和国特命全权大使陆慷在推特上晒出宁波诺丁汉大学留学生Griselda Rachael的手写信和他的回信,并评论道,“很高兴更多的印尼学生赴华留学!”
评论区网友们纷纷留言:“她一定很热爱中国文化”、“祝她留学顺利,回去之后建设她的祖国”……
今年7月,宁波诺丁汉大学获得外交部同意留学生返校的批文,并在省市相关部门的指导下制订了详细的返校流程。本次申请返校的这批留学生来自40多个国家,印尼留学生是其中重要的一支队伍。Griselda Rachael便是疫情之后第一批返华复学的印尼留学生之一。
选择来中国求学,是Griselda Rachael一直以来的规划。“我注意到现在很多的商务沟通都需要用到中文,所以我很想来中国学习并感受真实的商业氛围。”
7月,被宁波诺丁汉大学录取后,她就开始申请赴华求学的材料。“我原来觉得这会是一段漫长的旅程,但在大使馆的帮助下容易了很多。”她提到,陆慷大使亲自为她颁发了签证,使馆工作人员帮助她联系航空公司、争取机票优惠并协助办理绿码等等。学校的工作人员一直全程跟踪她的情况,当她落地中国后,学校点对点安排好了她所需要的交通和隔离事宜。
“我觉得我得到了很多人的帮助,让第一次来中国的我感觉到了温暖。”隔离期间,Griselda Rachael萌生了想要给陆慷大使写一封感谢信的想法。于是她先用英文写了一个版本,随后对照着中文字典一字一句翻译并手写了这封信,整整花了三天时间。
她写道。“…第一次来中国的我感觉到温暖,我感觉中国的疫情防控工作做得非常好,我已经迫不及待地希望探索校园和宁波…”、“作为宁波诺丁汉大学的学生,我将努力学习,努力实现自己的目标,追逐自己的梦想,我将积极参与各类学术和非学术活动。我期待在UNNC探索新事物并扩大我的知识范围,为中印尼两国的文化交流作出自己的贡献。”
这封信由宁波诺丁汉大学转送中国驻印度尼西亚大使馆。陆慷大使给她回信,并写道:
“尽管全球新冠疫情起伏反复,我们仍然非常欢迎优秀的印尼青年赴华攻读学业。作为疫情发生后首批负笈中华的一员,你在来信中充分体现出对中印尼人文交流的热切向往。这是非常可贵的。”
来到宁波一个月有余,Griselda Rachael表示一切都让她觉得很好。对于四年大学生活,除了在学术上赢得出色的表现,她最期待的是能够交到来自中国的好朋友。“我相信我一定可以的。”
作为一所国际化大学,国际生群体是宁波诺丁汉大学不可缺的组成部分。目前,宁波诺丁汉大学外籍及港澳台教师占到全体学术教师的60%,为学生营造国际化的校园氛围。留学生来自全球50多个国家和地区。他们在这里学习生活,实地感受中国的飞速发展和博大精深的中华文化。

UNNC assists Indonesian students in return to campus

Lu Kang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia, recently posted on Twitter a handwritten letter from Griselda Rachael, an international student at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). The post also included his reply to the student, commenting, “I am very happy to see more Indonesian students studying in China!” Internet users left messages in the comments section, some of which stated, “She must love Chinese culture very much,” and, “I wish her success in her studies abroad as well as building her motherland after she returns.”
In July, UNNC received approval from the 虫草鹿鞭王批发 Ministry of Foreign Affairs to allow international students to return to campus. To date, students from more than 40 countries and regions have applied to return, and Indonesian students make up a significant proportion of the returnees. Griselda Rachael was one of the first Indonesian students to return to China since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
Attending university in China has always been something that Griselda Rachael wanted to do. “I noticed lots of businesses now require Chinese speakers, so I really want to study in China and experience the business world here.”
“I thought it would be a long process, but it was much easier with the help of the embassy.” Griselda Rachael was issued a visa personally by Ambassador Lu Kang. The embassy also assisted in booking flight tickets, receiving ticket discounts, and registering for health codes. In addition,虫草鹿鞭王多久吃一次 UNNC supported her throughout the process. “I feel very grateful for the amount of help I’ve received since arriving in China.” During the quarantine period, Griselda Rachael came up with the idea of writing a thank-you notice to Ambassador Lu Kang. She wrote the first draft in English, then handwrote a translation into Chinese using a dictionary; it took her three days to finish.
She wrote, “After arriving in China, I have felt well looked after and I think China’s pandemic prevention and control measures have been very effective. I can’t wait to explore UNNC campus and Ningbo city.” She went on to write, “As a UNNC student, I will study hard, strive to achieve my goals, chase my dreams, and actively participate in various academic and non-academic activities. I also look forward to expanding my 虫草鹿鞭王报价 knowledge at UNNC and contributing to further cultural exchanges between China and Indonesia.”
The letter was forwarded by UNNC to the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia. Ambassador Lu Kang replied to Griselda Rachael in his letter, writing, “Despite the ongoing pandemic, we still welcome outstanding young Indonesian people to study in China. As one of the first batch of international students to return to China, it’s clear you are committed to enhancing people-to-people exchanges between China and Indonesia. This is very valuable.” After staying in Ningbo for over a month, Griselda Rachael says she has settled in comfortably and is looking forward to her time ahead at UNNC.
As a university without borders, the international student community is a vital part of UNNC. At present, the international, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan staff account for 60% of all staff on campus. The international student community is also diverse with students hailing from more than 50 countries and regions around the world. ?
Professor Sam Shen, Deputy Party Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Provost of UNNC, said that since the pandemic, this is the first batch of Indonesian students to return to China. As the first Sino-foreign cooperative university in China, UNNC has consistently promoted the recruitment and cultivation of international talent on campus. While providing a first-class international education, UNNC has remained steadfast in actively disseminating Chinese culture and telling the Chinese story to the world. The university will continue to play a key role as a conduit for promoting cultural exchanges between China and the international community.
